20 tips for more speed with the old ship

Everyone wants to sail faster. You don't have to buy a new boat to be able to sail faster. Every boat has a speed potential that is often not utilised to its full extent. The reasons for this are varied and mostly homemade. We have summarised the measures that can help a boat to become faster again.

Whether it is incorrect weight distribution, inadequate rig and sail trim or an overgrown, unkempt underwater hull - individually, the individual triggers for the loss of speed may not be so serious. However, in total, they can slow a boat down by double-digit percentages, and if you recognise the problems and consistently rectify them - in most cases, you only need to do this yourself - you will get to know your yacht from a new perspective. Sailing faster with an old ship is a lot of fun.
